What is synthetic turf?

Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass in appearance and function. It is most often used in areas for sports that were originally played on grass. It provides all-weather playing surface especially built to withstand extended use without downtime.

As a landscape cover, synthetic turf provides a low maintenance, weed-free surface that doesn't need to be watered or fertilized.

How is synthetic turf made?

Most synthetic turf systems installed include a drainage layer, a multi-layered backing system, and resilient grass blades that are infilled.

Infill is where the artificial turf is inserted with sand or a mixture of rubber and sand to help stabilize it for better performance.

How does the Synthetic Turf affect the environment?

Will the turf fade?

Absolutely not! Our fibers have a UV protection coating and can withstand the damaging effects of sun, heat, wind, snow, and ice.

Don’t the synthetic turf fibers flatten out after a while?

Synthetic turf fibres are partly held up by the support of the infill. Maintenance and regular brushing is also important to keep the fibres straight, of course.

How do you maintain the Synthetic Turf?

There's very little to do to maintain a synthetic turf surface the main thing is regular brushing to keep dirt and leaves off. Aerating, raking and sweeping the surface should all be part of the s tandard process of maintaining your artificial turf.

Does it get warmer than natural grass?

On a hot day, the grass can be on average, 5-10 degrees warmer than natural grass .

Does it drain well?

Synthetic Turf drains better than natural grass and can solve most drainage problems associated with natural grass in damp areas.
